Witnesses sought following assault

As part of an ongoing investigation, police in Hitchin are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Westmill Road.

The incident occurred on Thursday 16 July, at around 3.25pm. A woman reported being assaulted by a white man wearing a balaclava.

Following initial enquiries, a 23 year old man from Hitchin was arrested on suspicion of ABH later that day and released on police bail while the investigation continues.

As part of continuing work to progress the case, investigators are appealing for anyone who saw the assault and has not already spoken to police, to please get in touch.
